The professional staff at Catskill Regional Medical Center includes Board-certified hospitalists. These highly skilled physicians are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are dedicated solely to the care and treatment of our inpatients. They are on call at all times to coordinate care for patients at times when their personal physicians are not available.
From the time a patient is admitted, the hospitalist team actively oversees all diagnostic testing, treatments and medical care. Hospitalists are trained to handle the kinds of medical problems that may arise in the hospital. They monitor inpatients around the clock and see them as often as the medical condition requires. They provide status updates and feedback to physicians in the community who have patients hospitalized at CRMC. Members of the hospitalist team are right here in the hospital to answer questions and discuss concerns of patients and their families.
Good communication between our hospitalist team and physicians in the community assures continuity of care after hospital discharge. Inpatients who do not have a primary care physician may choose one from CRMC's affiliated physicians. The hospitalist team advises physicians of the treatment that their patients received while in the hospital.
