Hospitalist Program

A hospitalist physician specializes in the full-time care of hospitalized patients. This allows them to be available 24 hours / 7 days a week, dedicated solely to the care and treatment of their hospitalized patients. Catskill Regional Medical Center's hospitalists are all Board Certified in either Internal Medicine or Family Practice.

If you have a primary care physician, the hospitalist team coordinates your inpatient care with your physician by providing feedback and information. Once you are discharged from the hospital, your personal physician will resume your medical care.

If you do not have a primary care physician, you may choose one from CRMC's affiliated physicians. We will then simply schedule your follow-up appointment with them. The hospitalist team will also advise this physician of the care and treatment you received while in the hospital. From the time you are admitted, the hospitalist team will actively oversee all of your diagnostic testing, treatments and medical care. The team will see you as often as your medical condition requires. At those times, you and your family can ask questions and discuss any concerns you may have about your condition. The hospitalist team will monitor your care every day and be available to you and your family members around the clock.
