CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER’S GROVER M. HERMANN HOSPITAL AUXILIARY TO HOLD ANNUAL HEALTH & CRAFT FAIR MAY 19 – 04/26/2012
Mary Cade Memorial Fair will promote healthy living
April 26, 2012 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center and the Grover M. Hermann Hospital Auxiliary are sponsoring the Annual Mary Cade Memorial Health & Craft Fair on Saturday, May 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grover M. Hermann Hospital, located at 8881 NYS Route 97, Callicoon, N.Y.
In its mission to make health education both accessible and entertaining, this exciting event once again succeeds in bringing a myriad of fun-filled activities to Sullivan County. Admission is free, and the fair will feature health screenings, crafts, games, refreshments, a bake sale, live entertainment and a flea market. It is also a great opportunity for attendees to learn more about their community Grover M. Hermann Hospital in Callicoon.
Free health tests will be available, including cholesterol and glucose screenings (which require a 12-hour fast) performed by Catskill Regional Medical Center laboratory personnel from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., blood pressure readings performed by Catskill Regional Medical Center nurses and free hearing tests performed by Stuart Kabak from Catskill Hearing & Audiological Services.
A variety of information/activity booths will also be available, including the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department D.A.R.E. program and water safety tips from the National Park Service. The Kurpil Family Fiddlers, Back Porch Gang and Pair of Docs will be providing live entertainment while a Teddy Bear Clinic and Face Painting will be sure to keep the younger crowd occupied. Tours of Grover M. Hermann hospital’s new CT scanner will also be available. Grover M. Hermann Hospital added a CT scanner in January 2012, providing western Sullivan County and its surrounding communities in Pennsylvania with access to nearby CT imaging services.
