May 9, 2012 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce its Marketing and Public Relations Department recently received four prominent national marketing awards, including a gold award, from the 29th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards competition and the 2012 Aster Awards for excellence in medical marketing.


Catskill Regional Medical Center received its Gold Award from the Healthcare Advertising Awards in the category of Internal Publication for its “Hot Off the Stretcher” employee newsletter, and a Bronze Award in the Magazine Advertising/Series category for its “Did You Know” ad campaign, a four-part series focusing on technology, quality care and Catskill Regional Medical Center’s experienced medical professionals, with a final ad tying them all in together. The Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards are sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, a leading publication covering all aspects of health care marketing, advertising and strategic business development. A national panel of judges reviewed all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. Nearly 4,000 entries were submitted to this year’s competition.


Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Marketing Department received a Silver Aster Award in the Newsletter/Internal series category, once again for its “Hot Off the Stretcher” internal newsletter, and a Bronze Award in the Single Direct Mail Piece category for its Birthing Center Postcard, a targeted direct mail campaign to promote Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Birthing Center. Sponsored by Marketing Healthcare Today magazine, the Aster Awards Program is an elite competition recognizing the nation’s most talented health care marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in advertising. Almost 3,000 entries were submitted for this year’s competition, and entries must score in the top 16 percent in the country to receive a Bronze Award or above by a panel comprised of industry experts.
